Grading Criteria

• Do not summarize. We already know Red Hood took a basket to Grandma.
• Write about your idea that answers one in-depth question (thesis), such as:
  • What kind of relationship did the Wolf have with Red?
  • What is the Wolf (or Red, or Grandma) a metaphor for?
  • What do the people that wrote the myth value and believe in?
• Keep your thesis statement short and focused on your idea.
  • “The Wolf uses deception like a sexual predator.”
• Support answers with evidence from the reading (paraphrase or quote).
  • The wolf fooled Grandma by “counterfeiting [Red Hood’s] voice.”
  • He claimed to be “sent [to] [Grandma] by [Red’s] mother” to gain trust.
  • His invitation for Red to “get into bed with [him]” is a sexual advance.
• Proofread your work to remove technical errors and tighten writing.
